Clay Brick
Heritage Red Herringbone Clay Brick
Herringbone brick has a long history in old European kitchens and courtyards, and these sheets make the pattern far simpler to lay. Each mesh-back sheet holds 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" thin clay bricks pre-arranged in herringbone, in a reclaimed red mixed with gray and whitewashed tones.
The brick is real clay, about 1/2" thick, with a natural finish. Mesh-back sheets are intended for interior and covered outdoor areas; for open outdoor installs, single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles are the listed option. Corner pieces measure 2-1/4" x 10-3/4" for wrapping wall edges. Prefer a straight pattern? Heritage Red Clay Brick uses the same color in running bond, and more options are in our brick collection.

Herringbone is busy by nature, so keep surrounding surfaces calm: plain plaster walls, simple wood cabinetry, honed stone counters. Grout in a light gray or off-white picks up the whitewashed tones. It suits kitchen floors, pantry floors, entry halls and a backsplash behind a range. Use the running-bond sibling on adjoining walls for the same color with less pattern.
- Feature walls and fireplace surrounds
- Kitchen backsplashes and accent walls
- Covered patios and outdoor kitchens (mesh-back sheets)
- Patios, walkways and garden features (single tiles)
Mesh-back sheets are intended for interior and covered outdoor areas; single tiles are offered for outdoor use.
About Heritage Red Herringbone Clay Brick
Is there a running-bond version of Heritage Red?
Yes. Heritage Red Clay Brick uses the same reclaimed red, gray and whitewashed brick on a running-bond sheet, with single tiles and corners also listed. Many projects use herringbone on the floor and running bond on the walls.
Can I use the herringbone sheets outdoors?
The mesh-back sheets are listed for interior and covered outdoor areas, such as a covered porch. For uncovered outdoor areas, the single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles are the listed option. Confirm the method with your installer.
How thick is Heritage Red Herringbone Clay Brick?
Approximately 1/2". Because it is thin clay brick rather than full-depth brick, it goes over prepared walls and floors using tile-style installation. Your installer will confirm the substrate and setting materials for your space.
Are corner pieces available?
Yes. Corner pieces measuring 2-1/4" x 10-3/4" are listed, so outside wall corners can show brick on both faces rather than a cut edge, making the thin brick read like solid masonry.
