Ashford Gray Herringbone Clay Brick

Gray and buff are the colors of old brick that has spent a century in the weather, and Ashford Gray brings that muted range to a herringbone floor or wall. The mesh-back sheets come pre-laid in herringbone with real clay brick about 1/2" thick in a natural finish.

Sheets are listed for interior and covered outdoor areas; single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles are listed for open outdoor applications, and 2-1/4" x 10-3/4" corners finish the edges. The neutral palette works where red brick feels too traditional and white too bright: wine cellars, mudrooms, covered porches and mountain-home entries in Park City or Heber. Ashford Gray Clay Brick offers the same tones in running bond, and more colors are in our brick collection.

Gray and buff brick is a flexible neutral. Use mid-gray grout for an aged look or a warm off-white to brighten it. Pair with rustic oak, iron, leather and stone counters in gray or cream. Herringbone works well on long halls and entry floors, where the zigzag leads the eye forward. Use the running-bond version on adjoining walls to keep the color continuous.

  • Feature walls and fireplace surrounds
  • Kitchen backsplashes and accent walls
  • Covered patios and outdoor kitchens (mesh-back sheets)
  • Patios, walkways and garden features (single tiles)

Mesh-back sheets are intended for interior and covered outdoor areas; single tiles are offered for outdoor use.

    Questions

About Ashford Gray Herringbone Clay Brick

What colors are in Ashford Gray?

The brick shows weathered gray and buff tones, so it reads as a warm-leaning neutral rather than a flat gray. Expect lighter and darker bricks across a sheet; samples show the range better than photos.

Is there a matching running-bond brick?

Yes. Ashford Gray Clay Brick is the running-bond version in the same weathered gray and buff, with single tiles and corners listed, so walls and floors in one project can share a color.

Can I use Ashford Gray Herringbone in a mountain home entry?

Interior entries fit the listing for the herringbone mesh sheets. If the floor continues outside to an uncovered area, use the single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles there, and have your installer confirm the method for freeze-thaw conditions.
