Bluebird XL Stacked Stone

Tall 9" courses of blue-gray quartzite give Bluebird XL a strong horizontal rhythm on large surfaces. Split-face strips keep the face rugged, and the cool color settles well against snow, evergreens and dark window frames on mountain homes.

Each flat panel measures 9" x 24", with a 9" x 12" x 6" L-corner. Use it where the wall is big enough to carry the scale: a great-room fireplace, a stair tower, an exterior base or a covered entry. The same quartzite comes as Bluebird Mini in a 4.5" x 16" panel for backsplashes and smaller walls, so you can repeat the color at a finer scale elsewhere in the home. In Park City and Heber, confirm the exterior installation system and drainage details with your installer, since freeze-thaw cycles put demands on any wall assembly.

Bluebird XL pairs naturally with dark bronze or black window frames, rough-sawn timber and charcoal standing-seam roofing. Inside, white plaster and walnut keep it from feeling cold. Use the L-corners at every outside corner of a column or chimney, and set the mini version on a nearby bar or kitchen backsplash for continuity of color at a smaller scale.

    About Bluebird XL Stacked Stone

    Should I use Bluebird XL or Bluebird Mini?

    XL panels are 9" x 24" with a 9" x 12" x 6" L-corner and suit fireplaces, exteriors and tall walls. Mini panels are 4.5" x 16" with a 4.5" x 9" corner, sized for backsplashes and smaller spaces. Both use the same blue-gray quartzite.

    Is it suited to a mountain exterior?

    Its cool blue-gray color works well with mountain architecture. Freeze-thaw exposure in Park City and Heber makes the wall assembly and installation method important, so confirm suitability with your installer before ordering.

    What corner comes with the XL?

    An L-corner measuring 9" x 12" x 6" is listed. It continues the stacked pattern around outside corners on chimneys, columns and wall ends so the stone looks full-depth instead of showing a cut edge.
