Chalk White Clay Brick

Think of a painted brick wall in a converted farmhouse, then take away the paint and keep the softness. That is the idea behind Chalk White Clay Brick: real thin clay brick, about 1/2" thick, in a chalky white with a natural finish.

Running-bond mesh-back sheets are listed for interiors and covered outdoor areas, and they go up faster than setting brick by brick. For open outdoor areas, single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles are the listed choice, and 2-1/4" x 10-3/4" corners let the brick wrap columns, openings and fireplace edges. White mortar or grout gives a soft, limewashed wall; light gray gives each brick a crisp outline. Pair with natural oak, plaster, black iron, cane and greenery. Use running bond on fireplace surrounds, range walls, headboard walls and porch columns, and order corners wherever the brick turns an outside edge so it reads as solid masonry.

    About Chalk White Clay Brick

    Is Chalk White real brick?

    Yes. It is clay brick made thin, about 1/2" thick, rather than a porcelain look-alike. That gives it a natural clay texture while keeping it light enough for wall and floor installation with tile-style methods.

    How do the corner pieces work?

    Corners measure 2-1/4" x 10-3/4" and return around outside edges, so a column or wall end shows brick on both faces instead of a cut edge. Measure your outside corners in linear feet when requesting a quote.

    Can I use Chalk White Clay Brick on an exterior wall?

    Single 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" tiles are listed for outdoor use, and the mesh sheets for interior and covered outdoor areas. Your installer should confirm the substrate and method, especially in freeze-thaw climates.
