Desert Sand Travertine

Desert Sand coping finishes pool edges, steps and seat walls in the same warm beige, medium-variation travertine as the paver of the same name. It offers more profile choices than any other coping in our line.

In 12x24 and 16x24 you can choose 3 cm honed unfilled full bullnose, 2 in honed and brushed unfilled full bullnose, or 2 in honed unfilled and brushed with eased edges. There is also a 12x24 in 3 cm brushed with eased edges. Full bullnose gives a soft, rounded waterline; eased edges look cleaner on modern pools and raised spas. Lay it with Desert Sand Travertine pavers for a matched deck.

Bring us your pool plan and we can help sort the options. Request a quote, ask for samples, and visit our Draper or Payson showroom by appointment.

Sizes are nominal. Confirm dimensions, finish and edge profile with Stone Era before ordering.

For a seamless deck, consider matching coping and paver thickness where possible, such as 3 cm with 3 cm pavers. The 2 in pieces read slightly heavier at the edge. Bullnose fits family pools and spa edges people sit on; eased edges suit contemporary designs with straight lines. Beige travertine pairs with sand-colored grout, cream plaster and natural wood. Confirm the details with your installer.

    Questions

    About Desert Sand Travertine

    Which thickness should I pick?

Desert Sand coping comes in 3 cm and 2 in. The 3 cm pieces can align with the matching 3 cm pavers, while 2 in pieces give a more substantial edge. Your installer should confirm which works with your pool and setting bed.

Does it match the Desert Sand pavers exactly?

It is the same named stone, warm beige with medium variation, so it is meant to pair with the pavers. Natural travertine varies, so review samples together and ask your installer to blend pieces during installation.

Is it suited to desert pools?

Light, warm stone generally stays more comfortable underfoot than dark stone in sun, which is helpful around St. George pools. Confirm drainage, sealing and installation method with your installer for your specific pool.

    What does unfilled mean?

Travertine naturally has small holes and voids. Unfilled pieces leave them open rather than filling them, which gives a more natural, textured surface. Ask your installer how they handle sealing and maintenance for unfilled stone.
